Background

Casey Steinbacher has been with Economic Leadership for five years as a Project Manager.  She is a 27-year veteran of leading community-based organizations focused on business and economic development.  Casey is widely recognized as a national expert in urban innovations strategies. She is credited with authoring the innovative talent attraction strategy that targeted entrepreneurs and millennials as key components for the place-based renaissance of downtown Durham in the Research Triangle region of North Carolina.   She served as CEO of three Chambers of Commerce in Pennsylvania, Florida and North Carolina.  She continues to serve the industry through her work at Economic Leadership and through thought leadership engagement. Work

As Project Manager, Casey coordinates project activity within the company’s robust portfolio of clients throughout the US.   While projects often vary in scope, Casey routinely oversees the Stakeholder Engagement required to determine the current “state of” environment that the project will attempt to address.  In that role, Casey enjoys facilitating conversations with community stakeholders and leadership that provides the Economic Leadership strategy team with the intel required to reimagine a more impactful strategy for the client.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Casey has a degree in Urban Development from Penn State University.   After a short stint in Florida, she now lives in the Research Triangle Region of North Carolina.   And while she thoroughly enjoys the close proximity to the Carolina beaches, she spends a lot of time on planes in her ongoing quest to be present for her 10 grandchildren.
