Background

Greg has been Vice President at Economic Leadership since 2015. Prior to that, he worked as a commercial real estate broker in the Research Triangle region of North Carolina for over 13 years. He helped clients with all aspects of commercial brokerage, particularly involving industrial and office properties and land development. Greg also served local governments in North Carolina and Virginia for 10 years in the areas of economic development, downtown redevelopment, and land use planning.

Work

Greg’s work with Economic Leadership focuses on crafting strategic plans, analyzing the competitiveness of client locations, and sharing best practices to boost competitiveness. Among his favorite accomplishments is a 50-state report on innovative state-level practices to improve workforce development. In addition to this work on a national scale, Greg has contributed to economic development efforts in more than 30 states, numerous metropolitan regions, cities, counties, and rural areas across America.

About

Greg has an undergraduate degree from Duke University and a Master’s in Urban & Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia. He graduated from the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma and earned the CCIM credential for expertise in commercial and investment real estate. Born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia, for more than 25 years Greg has served on the board of a charitable foundation focused on improving STEM education in rural parts of North Carolina and West Virginia. He is an avid fan of live music, sports, and red wine.
